I'm Mark Best.

I moved with my family from Australia in 2002 and we've lived and worked in Maizuru since then.

We started Best Eikaiwa so I could work from home and still see my family during the day. Our first school was opened at our house here in Higashi Maizuru and is still our biggest school today.

In 2004, we started a second school in Nishi Maizuru and classes in Miyazu and Iwataki as well. We've had to open a second school in Higashi Maizuru too, so today we have five schools.

What's different?

So, what's different about Best Eikaiwa? Lots! The biggest difference is the care and energy we put into running our school. Our students are like an extension of our family.

Quality

I care deeply about the quality of the lessons and give a lot of extra support to my teachers. Nowadays, I spend most of my time at the computer, researching the latest teaching methods and ideas, making teaching aids and developing new activities for classes.

Technology

Our classrooms have computers and high speed internet connections and we use the Internet to make learning more fun and effective. Our new student website gives you a personalized record of your classes (you can even listen to your class notes in English!)
